The first half
of this friendly against Effingham was used for development purposes with many
of our players trialling new positions.
For the
first fifteen minutes Effingham were outrucking Twickenham giving them a better
advantage. There were, however, lots of offside, crosses and deliberate
obstruction decisions not given which assisted to Effingham obtaining a score
of 17 nil at the end of the first half.
The second
half saw some changes of players and as the match progressed Twickenham’s
scrumming improved. They lifted their spirits and went for it. There was a lot
of good play in the centre of the field. There was more aggression shown
by our boys as the match progressed. A penalty was awarded to Effingham,
but did not come to fruition. Effingham then scored a good try bringing
the score to a final 22 nil.
During the
match there were some good pick up and runs by Rhys and Prithvi had another great
game. Throughout the game the majority of team showed great determination
regardless of the score.
