Our first league match against Fullerians A team started by our boys training in torrential rain and getting totally soaked before the match even started.

Twickenham started the first half, Sam Yamuah had to defend a early attacking kick from the away side, only to be rewarded by receiving their no 12 studs who went in feet first and who was probably lucky to stay on the field.

The forwards started the game really strongly and showed total supremacy in the rucks for the duration of the match with good solid performances from Edward and James Boultbee.

While the score was still all square a kick through ball put full back James Stone under pressure but he managed to put in a great try saving tackle forcing them to knock on and preventing a try.

Shortly after James was involved again with a good offload to Sam Yamuah whose pace was unstoppable scoring our first try and Harry Gibbons narrowly missing the conversion.

Their was some good moves involving the backs with Harry, Billy, and Ollie leading the attack after some good quick service from scrum half Alex See.

Rhys made a long run, passing several opponents who could not stop him, Rhys then went on to make our second try which was well converted by Harry.

Fullerians started quickly only for Jay to make a good clearance. On receiving the cleared ball their player was met by a strong tackle from Stephen.

The half time score being a familiar 12 - 0 lead.

Fullerians started the second half strongly as expected and could have scored a early try if not for a great tap tackle by Sam Kitch forcing them to knock on, and Rhys also managing to hold the ball up on the line on another occasion .

The third try involved some quick offloading by Pritvi, Jay and Stephen with Jay getting his first try of the day and well converted by Harry. Twickenham at this time were showing their supremacy, Joe also made some good attacking runs gaining us some good valuable ground.

Our forth try started with a good run by Jamie dummying his opponent and starting a great move involving Joe, Harry, Alex and with Jay who was determined to get his second of the day, Harry just missing his conversion.

Fullerians then scored a try despite some good defending on the line, their conversion was missed.

From the restart James Stone then collected the ball well as he did all game and ran the full length of the field only to unluckily knock on as he was about to ground the ball.

Our last try of the day involved another team effort of several players with Ollie securing the last try of the day, Harry narrowly missed the conversion.

The final score being 29 points to 5 , and as I heard Lawrence say during the second half this was champagne Rugby.

Well done to all the boys and coaches as this shows that all their hard work in training is worth it.
